CASSELTON, N.D. — In Casselton, on Monday night, Sept. 22, a chance to witness transformation.
A concert at Martin's Lutheran Church featured a harpsichord recital, but the story behind the instrument and the man who plays it is all about perseverance.
In the spacious sanctuary of Martin's Lutheran in Casselton, Ken Parker prepared for Monday's evening concert on a replica 1760 harpsichord his father, Gerald Parker, started building in 1995. It took two years to finish.
The artwork on the harpsichord was done by a late family friend, Kathleen Brakke Anderson of Rutland, N.D.
"I thought I had always wanted to build a harpsichord, and so I did," Gerald Parker said.
