DECATUR, Ala. - A Morgan County jury convicted Jyasiel Devante Hampton, 33, from Courtland for trafficking more than 500 grams of methamphetamine. The verdict came Friday after just 30 minutes of deliberation.
Hampton, also known as "Game," was arrested on March 10, 2022, after arranging to sell 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine for $5,000. Unbeknownst to him, he was communicating with the North Alabama Drug Task Force.
The task force, known as the STAC Team, includes agents from the Huntsville and Decatur Police Departments. They operate under the HIDTA initiative to combat drug trafficking.
