EL DORADO, ARKANSAS (KNOE) - South Arkansas College is on the upswing after taking a hit during the COVID-19 pandemic. Enrollment is up, and construction projects are underway.

South Arkansas College recently announced that enrollment this semester has increased 9.6% from last fall.

“In 2009, 2010, we had record enrollment, and that was a result of the recession. People were coming back to work, or coming back to college because they were out of work at the time and looking to reskill and retool,” South Ark College President Stephanie Tully-Dartez said. “Since then, we’ve had kind of steady numbers in terms of enrollment, more of a traditional population. With COVID, every college took a hit, and we are now on the upswing.”
