GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Greensboro wants to continue its Neighborhood Traffic Management Program.

Starting October 1, residents can apply to have their neighborhood studied to see if it is eligible for traffic calming devices.

The City of Greensboro said the program was a success last year, leading to a 16% decrease in speed when they set up their pop-up traffic control measures in Greensboro neighborhoods.

Last year, the Greensboro Department of Transportation (GDOT) received 350 applications for some of the most notorious spots for speeding and other bad behavior on the roads.

Now, the city is giving people another chance this year to apply for the program.
