TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after a person was found dead in a vacant lot, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Officers with the Tampa Police Department said they found the victim, Andie Morrel, 37, dead on Friday, Sept. 19 in a lot on North 39th Street.

The investigation led detectives to a home on Polak Drive in unincorporated Hillsborough County, where authorities believe Morrel was killed.

Investigators said they found "blood evidence" inside the home.

Further investigation led authorities to identify a 17-year-old boy as a suspect, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies did not specify what linked the teen to the crime.

Officials said the teen was charged with second-degree murder with a firearm.
