BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The city of Bakersfield is set to host a Community Listening Session for possible solutions to the issue of jail bed availability.

The listening session is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at City Hall North located at 1600 Truxtun Avenue in conference room A.

Representatives from the Kern County Sheriff's Office and the Bakersfield Police Department, city council members and City Manager Christian Clegg are expected to be in attendance to receive feedback as the task force is developed.
