Letter: Whittier School Committee member explains no vote

To the editor:

As a member of the Whittier School Committee, I feel compelled to explain why I could not vote to support the recent appointment of the Whittier School Building Committee (SBC). My vote was not a reflection of opposition to this project, nor to any individual recommended for appointment. On the contrary, I believe investing in Whittier Tech’s future is vital. However, the process by which this committee was assembled lacked the transparency and accountability our communities deserve.
