MORRISON, Ill. (KWQC) - A robbery, where court documents say the money was taken in a light pink Stanley cup, is moving to federal court.
Ryan Hicks, 37, of Sterling, gave a teller at Community State Bank a handwritten note demanding cash, according to the criminal complaint filed in July.
The teller told police Hicks told her to put the money in a Stanley water bottle. Police said he stole $2,062 from the bank, court documents said.
Hicks allegedly threatened to kill her if she didn’t give him the money or called the police, court documents said.
The Sterling Police Department called the FBI and told them Hicks was in jail on an unrelated charge, the complaint said.
Hicks had $1,267.56 and several items, including a light pink Stanley Cup, court documents said.
