Madison County Animal Control is addressing concerns about coverage in certain cities as residents worry they aren't being served. Director Brad Stewart said the cities involved are New Hope, Owens Cross Roads, Gurley, and Triana.
While these areas are currently covered by Madison County Animal Control, this may change. Stewart explained that these cities, as municipalities within Madison County, have stronger laws when dealing with animals than those at the state level.
Recent legal issues in these areas, which fall outside the jurisdiction of animal control, have prompted a search for solutions to ensure proper coverage.
