SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Hurricane Gabrielle has 140 mph winds making it a major category 4 hurricane. This makes the 2nd major hurricane of the season with Erin being the other. Both of these major hurricanes did not make landfall thankfully.

Gabrielle is passing just to the east of Bermuda and will eventually turn to the east and weaken considerably as it moves over the north central Atlantic which is much cooler over the next couple of days.

Two disturbances in the south central Atlantic are being monitored for development in the next few days. The next name up for the next storm is Humberto and this too looks like if it were to develop it will move off to the NW and then north following a similar path as Gabrielle.

Disturbance number 2 has a 50% chance for developing later this week.
