MINNEAPOLIS — If you were worried that the Minnesota Lynx trailed the Phoenix Mercury by seven points going into halftime of Sunday's first game of the WNBA semifinals, you don't know what makes this team special.

"(Phoenix) always give us their best punch, but our thing is we're conditioned," said Don Williams, father of Lynx guard Courtney Williams. "In the 3rd quarter, 4th quarter. Mercury was out of gas. They was out of gas and Courtney was still wide open."

Williams isn't exactly an impartial analyst, but the Lynx unofficial hype man admits that it's not just conditioning that makes this year's team so special.

He says chemistry is it's true superpower.

"Being happy, and being excited about every little thing that's good is contagious," he said.
