NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A lot of monkey business is known to happen along Lower Broadway in Nashville, but it normally involves cowboy boots and hats, not gorilla suits.
That’s exactly what Metro Police said happened around 4:45 Sunday morning at the intersection of Broadway and 2nd Avenue when two men were arrested.
Xavier Rhodes, 18, was dressed as a gorilla when he got into a fight and put the victim in a headlock, police said. Sherrod Robinson, 22, then came over wearing a Hawaiian shirt and started punching and kicking the victim.
Police said the victim had a bloody nose, cuts, and bruises when Rhodes and Robinson stopped attacking him, stole his shoes, and ran away.
