NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A new structure in Germantown is drawing attention from those who walk by, Nashville’s newest ‘parklet.’

The small structure occupies one or two parking spots, transforming them into outdoor seating for anyone to use. The newest one sits just outside The Cupcake Collection at 1213 6th Ave N, where staff say it fits right in with the neighborhood’s growth.

“There’s people walking up and down the street all day. This provides a place for them to come sit, hopefully enjoy a cupcake, and get out of the sun,” said Dillon Francois, COO of The Cupcake Collection.

Three parklets have been built around Nashville since 2022, when the city started offering permits. Businesses, nonprofits, and residents can apply for a city permit to sponsor one.
