SPARTA, Tenn. (WSMV) - A young Amish mother and her 2-year-old son were among the victims of a devastating head-on crash in Tennessee last week that left more than a dozen family members injured and four people dead.
The Beachy family, who had moved to Alabama just three weeks before the accident, was returning home from a family wedding in Kentucky when tragedy struck. Around 6:45 p.m. on Highway 111 in Sparta, a Dodge Durango traveling north lost control, crossed the median, and collided head-on with a southbound Ford Econoline van carrying 15 members of the extended Beachy family.
