SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - IU Police and Public Safety has sent out an alert telling the campus to “shelter in place” while South Bend police search for a man near campus who is reportedly armed.

According to IU Police , South Bend officers are searching for an armed white man who is wearing blue jeans, a brown shirt and work boots.

The man was reportedly heading south on Twyckenham Drive as of IU Police’s most recent update.

In the meantime, police are asking you to “avoid the area and shelter in place.”
