SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - A small but spirited crowd showed up at Nuner Fine Arts Academy on Monday evening for the first in a series of town hall meetings to collect public input on a proposal to transition some of the district’s schools from K-8 to K-6.

“Plan C” is the brainchild of school board member Mark Costello. At recent school board meetings, Costello has argued his plan will retain students at a time when many youngsters reportedly leave the school district after fifth grade.
