FREMONT, N.Y. (WENY) -- New York State Police said an investigation was underway after a body was found in the Hornell Reservoir.

Troopers said the body of a 79-year-old man was discovered by two fisherman Monday in the reservoir located on Reservoir Road. No signs of foul play were observed.

Troopers said State Police in Hornell and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to the scene. Troopers were assisted by the Fremont Fire Department and the Hammondsport Fire Department.

The investigation is ongoing.
