Protocols surrounding vaccinations for COVID-19 are changing following a recent meeting of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

Friday morning's meeting occurred during a time where many pharmacies across the country, including in Southern Utah, are now requiring a prescription for COVID-19 for certain customers.

For instance, Harmon’s Pharmacy reportedly indicated they will issue COVID-19 vaccines by prescription for those 12 and older.

Other local pharmacies are following similar guidelines set in place by the CDC. However, still others, such as Walgreens, reportedly continue to offer free vaccinations by appointment.
