SALT LAKE CITY — A Nevada man was charged in Utah for allegedly causing a wrong-way crash — involving two semitrucks — while under the influence of drugs in April.

On Friday, Christopher Van Yergensen, 58, of Henderson, Nevada, was charged with third-degree felony, negligently operating a vehicle resulting in injury, and misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment and reckless driving, according to court documents.

On April 16, the Utah Highway Patrol received reports of a black Tesla traveling northbound on Interstate 15’s southbound lanes near Holden in Millard County.

Shortly after, UHP received reports of a head-on crash involving the Tesla, a red semitruck and a white semitruck.
