MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis's Central High School and district speak out after Central's band was told it couldn't play at a varsity game this past Friday in Brighton.

WREG spoke with parents and students from Central High and each person said this all started after learning Central High's band could not perform, saying it would be a distraction, being too loud.

"It was explained that, they didn't want us to play at first, so because of that, we weren't going to be playing on our instruments; we were going to be playing on our kazoos," said LaDarius Brown, 9th grader, who plays Baritone.
