HONOLULU (Island News) -- Higher rain chances are forecast for the islands for the first part of the weekend.

Tonight, cloudy skies will appear with lows in the middle 70s. Expect increasing rains, focused on windward and mauka areas.

On Saturday, partly cloudy skies will come to leeward areas and mostly cloudy skies will come to windward areas. East-northeast winds will be at 10 to 20 mph with just a few passing trade wind showers in the morning. An old frontal boundary will increase trade wind showers with the highest chances in the morning hours.

On Sunday, the western islands will see somewhat drier weather with passing lingering showers for Windward Maui and the Big Island.
