The British teenager who stabbed to death three girls in the Southport knife attacks "illicitly" obtained driving licences to buy machetes, a public inquiry has been told.
Axel Rudakubana, 19, was jailed earlier this year to at least 52 years for killing the girls and stabbing 10 others last July in the northern English town of Southport.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the stabbing rampage one of the most harrowing moments in Britain's history.
The inquiry has been hearing how Rudakubana has amassed a collection of weapons in his bedroom for at least two years, the BBC reports.
Detective Chief Inspector Jason Pye, who headed the police investigation into the attacks, said a machete was found in a holdall beneath the teenager's bed, along with a bow and arrows.
