ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) – Friday night brought a historic milestone for Elizabethton football, as head coach Shawn Witten became the winningest coach in Cyclones history, surpassing his grandfather, Dave Rider.

Behind a dominant effort, the Cyclones rolled past previously unbeaten Cherokee 30–7. With the victory, Witten improved his career record to 174–55 in his 19th season leading the program. His tenure has been marked by consistency and championship success, highlighted by back-to-back undefeated state titles in 2019 and 2020.
