NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches County Jail advisory committee are holding town hall meetings for the upcoming election.
The public will be able to view a short presentation from the group and have a chance to ask questions about the bond election to replace the 30+ year-old jail. They’re scheduled to visit all four county precincts.
This comes after Nacogdoches County approved a $75 million bond proposal to be on the November ballot. A jail study was presented last year to the county commissioners court, addressing lack of space, accessibility, and outdated security.
“It’s very important for the tax payers and voters to know what exactly what they’re getting for their money and what this bond election is all about,” said chairman James Standley.
