LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The City of Lufkin has named Larissa Philpot-Brown as their new director of economic development.

Philpot-Brown will start in October, with the retirement of former director Bob Samford.

“I am honored to join the City of Lufkin as director of Economic Development,” Philpot-Brown said. “I look forward to working with local leadership and community stakeholders to help advance Lufkin’s economic prospects. Throughout my career, I have remained steadfast in my dedication to building meaningful relationships and fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.”
