MANCHESTER, N.H. —

If you're struggling with student loans, you're not alone.

More borrowers are falling behind on payments, and confusion about overdue dates isn't helping.

Research from TransUnion shows that nearly six million Americans are at least three months behind on their federal student loan payments. The Federal Student Aid office warns that many could default in the coming months.

"I feel like I'm walking on glass," said Dorien Rogers, a graduate student and borrower.
