The United States and China must maintain clear and open communications to avoid conflict and address global issues, a bipartisan delegation of U.S. lawmakers said in Beijing Tuesday following meetings with top officials.

Speaking to reporters in the Chinese capital, Congressman Adam Smith said disagreements were inevitable, “but you have to set up mechanisms for being able to talk about those disagreements and resolve them in the most reasonable way possible.”
