GLASGOW Ky. (WBKO) - Barren County Schools was one of only 39 school districts nationwide to receive a grant from the Public School Districts’ Opioid Recovery Trust . The more than $400,000 grant will help continue the fight against the opioid crisis through their Resilience Factor Program.
“We try to look at all angles of why are these families continually getting back in the same situations. How can we really tangibly come alongside them and help them so that the benefit is that they do realize recovery, so that they come out of that and they come out stronger on the other side of that?” said Shelly Thomas, Youth Services Center Coordinator at Barren County High School.
