EON is sending a free £150 to state pensioners on top of the Winter Fuel Payment they will receive from the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ).

The Warm Home Discount programme helps people who might be having a hard time paying their energy bills in the winter. You are paid £150 as credit towards your energy bills.

E.ON Next and other participating energy suppliers pay for it as a way of caring about their most vulnerable clients so they have a warm, comfortable home over winter, the energy firm - which is rivalled by British Gas and more - has said.
