South Bend Police are searching for a suspect involved in a domestic disturbance that led to multiple gunshots and a crash near IU South Bend.

Police were called shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday, Sep. 22, to the 1000 block of South 23rd Street for a report of a domestic incident. Officers were told the suspect had fired a gun before leaving in a vehicle.

A short time later, police received reports of a crash near Northside Boulevard and Clover Street. Witnesses said the driver got out of the vehicle, fired additional shots, and fled on foot.

Multiple officers, along with drones and a K-9 unit, searched the area. As of 11:30 p.m., no gunshot injuries had been reported, and the suspect remained at large.
