An Australian woman has delivered a warning to buyers on Facebook marketplace after she had an uncomfortable experience trying to buy a new mattress on the ecommerce platform.

Ash Bradford shared the ordeal she and her mother went through to her nearly 48,000 TikTok followers.

The 23-year-old, who was in need of a bed for her new home after moving to Brisbane from Sydney, said she saw a queen size bed frame with a new mattress being sold for $265 on the site and thought it was a "great deal", so reached out to the seller.

The seller, named Angeline on Facebook, sent over her home address and Ash travelled with her mother to the locatio - which was just a 20-minute drive away.

While on the way though, Angeline sent over her PayID on Facebook Messenger and began asking for a $50 deposit,
