Possible government shutdown could strain local food banks

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A possible government shutdown is just over a week away, and one of the community resources that could feel the impact is food banks.

The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is already seeing increased demand, and officials say a shutdown would affect federal employees, veterans, military personnel and contractors.
