McDonald's diners have expressed disappointment after spotting a rule change when placing orders. Many customers at the fast-food giant now rely on the app to make purchases, take advantage of special deals, check in at branches, and to collect reward points.

For every penny spent at McDonald's, app users can collect one MyMcDonald's Rewards point. Upon reaching a specific number of points, you can redeem these for rewards, with options including free snacks, mains, and beverages, or you can opt for McDonald's to make a charitable donation on your behalf instead.
