CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. — State officials Monday exhumed the partial remains of a woman known only as "Oak Grove Jane Doe" at Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City, calling this Oregon's oldest unidentified person case. It's also a nearly 80-year-old unsolved homicide.

"Every person deserves the right to identification," said Hailey Collord-Stalder, the state forensic anthropologist. "Despite this case being nearly 80 years old, this is still a case that we would work to get identified."

Collord-Stalder and her team with the Oregon State Police Medical Examiner's Office Human Identification Program took a closer look at the cold case dating back to the 1940s.

"This case has some particularly violent and kind of heinous facets associated with it," she said.
