A seriously injured man needed emergency trauma care after his car crashed into a tree in Warwickshire . Medics and police raced to the scene A46 Alcester Road in Drayton, Stratford-upon-Avon at just after midnight this morning (September 23).

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) has confirmed an ambulance, two paramedic officers and a critical care car from The Air Ambulance Service were sent to the scene of the crash. Medics found the man, who has not been identified but was driving the car, in a serious condition.

He needed trauma care from the team of ambulance medics and was being stabilised before being taken on blue lights to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. Police closed off the road for several hours.
