The Schultz-Holmes District Library is launching an Early Learning Backpack Program to support families with young children.

The program, which begins Oct. 1, offers themed backpacks filled with books, hands-on activities and learning tools for children aged eight and younger, according to a community announcement. Each backpack focuses on a specific learning topic, such as magnetics, vehicles, house or bridge building, and coding.

Patrons can borrow the backpacks with a library card for up to four weeks. The library encourages families to explore different themes over time to support well-rounded early development. The collection has a rotation of 40 learning kits.
