A new strain of Covid is spreading quickly and it comes with a unique symptom to be mindful of.

Most of us will remember the dark days where coronavirus was at its peak, more than five years ago, and now there's an increasing concern over a new variant called 'Stratus' which has two forms, XFG and XFG. 3.

It was initially identified in January this year, and by June, the World Health Organisation (WHO) categorised XFG as 'under monitoring' due to its 'increasing proportions globally'.

By 3 September, the UK Health Security Agency noted a 7.1 per cent increase in coronavirus cases across England compared to the previous week, although it's uncertain how many are linked to the XFG variant.
