J&K, Sept 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet has recommended to the Lieutenant Governor that the Legislative Assembly be convened from October 13. The session, chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and attended by all ministers, is expected to run for about a week, ending on October 20.

As per the J&K Reorganisation Act, 2019, no more than six months may elapse between two Assembly sessions. With the last sitting held on April 29, the government is required to hold the next session before October 28.
