WEST HARTFORD, Conn — As Rosh Hashanah is celebrated across the country, the West Hartford community gathered this weekend to welcome in the Jewish New Year with a call for resilience, unity, and peace.

Thousands gathered at Elizabeth Park, where the sound of the shofar echoed across the crowd. Community leaders and residents said this year, the celebration emphasized the importance of coming together in the face of ongoing global conflicts.

“I think it’s to find ways to be together. It’s to find ways to communicate with one another without hostility. This is what it should be,” one participant shared.
