Two families were displaced after a fire at a Hallandale Beach home on Tuesday, according to Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue.

It happened at around 2:25 a.m., after someone called 911 about smoke coming from the roof of a single-family home at 171 Southwest 11th Avenue.

About 35 firefighters responded, encountering heavy smoke and launching "an aggressive interior attack, deploying multiple hand lines to battle the flames," fire rescue said.

All residents were able to evacuate, but two families were displaced.

"The fire was successfully extinguished within 15 minutes and was contained to a single room, sparing the remainder of the home from significant damage," fire rescue said.
