When Chicago Cub outfielder Kyle Tucker hit a three-run homer in the third inning against the Braves on Sept. 2, trouble was already brewing. His left calf had felt tight for a few days and he had been receiving treatment in hopes of playing through the discomfort. However, after one more hit — a single in the fifth — he exited in the seventh inning.
He has not played since and went home to Tampa last week for a second opinion and treatment from a physical therapist who helped him with a similar problem in the past.
