A man was killed early Tuesday in a fiery crash on State Road 7 in Hollywood, according to fire rescue.

Hollywood Fire Rescue said they responded to a vehicle accident at about 2:52 a.m. in the northbound lanes, just south of Mayo Street.

There, authorities found the vehicle "fully involved in fire" and quickly put it out.

The driver had been thrown from the vehicle, and his body was found nearby. Fire rescue said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

More information about the victim was not immediately available.

"Hollywood Police Department remained on scene, and Florida Power & Light was requested to assess the structural integrity of the damaged pole due to significant impact and exposed rebar," fire rescue said.
