SRINAGAR : A 55-kilogram python was captured by the Wildlife Department and local police on Tuesday in the Rajouri district’s Manpur village, of Jammu Kashmir, officials confirmed, as reported by Daily Excelsior Follow Us On G -N e w s | Whatsapp

The operation was launched after locals alerted authorities to the presence of the reptile in the forested area of Nowshera tehsil. Teams from both the police and the wildlife department swiftly responded to the scene.

After hours of effort, the four-and-a-half-metre long python was successfully apprehended. Wildlife officer Rajesh Kumar reported that the snake, weighing between 50 to 55 kilograms, had initially killed and swallowed a jackal but later regurgitated the prey.

The python, now safely secured, is expected
