SAN DIEGO – Bruce Zimmermann got to live out the dream of anybody who's ever played a game of baseball, celebrating the Milwaukee Brewers ' clinch of a third consecutive National League Central Division title Sept. 21 in the visitor's clubhouse at Busch Stadium.
It was a pinch-me moment, to be sure.
But while the champagne bottles popped and the beer cans sprayed, the left-hander instead found himself pondering the unusual situation he'd found himself in – selected from Class AAA Nashville two days earlier and back in the major leagues for the first time since 2023.
So, great to be back – but kind of awkward as well for the 30-year-old, having spent the entire season to that point toiling in the minors.
