CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller is back atop Division I in the cleveland.com state football rankings, switching spots with St. Edward, which dropped to second after its 21-14 loss at Massillon.

The Crusaders, who reached the state finals last year with Mr. Football winner Matt Ponatoski, aren’t the only Cincinnati-area school to hold a top ranking. Anderson remains the No. 1 team in Division II after a signature victory against Kings, handing the Knights their first loss on Friday behind Owen Scalf’s 413 yards passing and seven touchdowns.

Defending Division II state champ Avon, which has one loss, closed the gap since last week between itself, Anderson and Walsh Jesuit with an impressive 28-0 shutout of Olmsted Falls.
