Auburn Tigers men’s head basketball coach Bruce Pearl has resigned from his position after 11 seasons, the program announced Monday.
Pearl, 65, will move into an ambassador’s role in Auburn’s athletic department as a special assistant to the athletics director, according to a news release . He will be replaced as head coach by his son, Steven Pearl, who has spent the past 11 seasons as an Auburn assistant, including the past two as associate head coach.
“Eleven years ago, I was given the opportunity of a lifetime to become the head basketball coach at Auburn, and it has been nothing short of amazing,” Bruce Pearl said.
