HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - Late night host Jimmy Kimmel returns to the airwaves on Tuesday night , but Democratic leaders continue to have concerns about free speech.

ABC pulled Kimmel off the air last week for comments in which he claimed the MAGA movement was trying to politically capitalize on the death of Charlie Kirk .

The move came following threats from the Federal Communications Commission.

In a statement, however, ABC said it had thoughtful conversations with Kimmel since the suspension.

Kimmel himself has yet to comment.

Meanwhile, some Democrats like Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy, said they are concerned about what the suspension means for Americans’ First Amendment rights.
