Extraordinary images show a fiery inferno on the A46 bypass near Coventry Tesco. A ball of fierce orange flames lit up the early morning sky around the bypass between the B4082, east of Coventry city centre and the A428 late last night (September 23).

Fire engines from across the city and nearby Warwickshire responded to 999 calls to report a lorry on fire. Images sent to CoventryLive show the major blaze that greeted firefighters when they arrived at the scene.

West Midlands Fire Service confirmed a fire engine from Foleshill and a fire engine from Binley responded to 999 calls at 10.20pm with the first arriving within four minutes of being mobilised.

Due to the location near Ansty, Warwickshire Fire and Rescue also responded, sending three appliances to the scene. They found
