The Black Course at Bethpage State Park has been home to three major championships and this week hosts the 2025 Ryder Cup, which pits a squad of 12 players from the United States against 12 from Europe. PuttView offers a hole-by-hole course guide to the Black in the form of a yardage book that shows the details of each hole.

The Black Course is one of five at the state park in Farmington, New York. It hosted the 2002 U.S. Open won by Tiger Woods, the 2009 U.S. Open won by Lucas Glover and the 2019 PGA Championship won by Brooks Koepka. The Black opened in 1936 with a design by famed architect A.W. Tillinghast and Joe Burbeck. The course is ranked by Golfweek’ Best as the No. 1 public-access layout in New York, the No. 8 public-access course in the United States and the No. 26 classic course in the U.S.

The Black is listed as being 7,486 yards long on its standard scorecard, but the American team can adjust yardages daily. The total par is 71.

Thanks to yardage books provided by PuttView – the maker of detailed yardage books for thousands of courses around the world – we can see exactly the challenges the pros face this week on the Black Course. Check out the maps of each hole in the gallery embedded above.
