A woman has been convicted of murdering her children and leaving their bodies in suitcases in an abandoned storage unit in New Zealand.

The new owners of the unit made the horrific discovery when they bought it in an online auction in August 2022.

Hakyung Lee admitted using anti-depressant medication to kill her children, aged six and eight, in 2018 - but her insanity defence was rejected by the jury.

The 45-year-old was extradited to New Zealand in late 2022 after she fled to her homeland of South Korea shortly after the murders and changed her name.

Her lawyers claimed the killings happened after she "descended into madness" following the death of her husband.

However, prosecutors said that - while likely suffering from depression - it wasn't enough to support an insanity defenc
